It's evolution, baby. One theory of the meaning of life is that the need for proliferation is so deeply wired into us that just about every social motivation boils down to gaining the acknowledgement of the opposite sex.

I'm pretty badly in love these days, so I'm temporarily blinded to the other side of the story. I think I must be pretty naive, allowing myself to experience this kind of intensity of emotion. I should know better and fear these heights, out of knowledge that it will all break in the end and the fall will be so much harder. I want all the highs and lows of life, but this may simply be a matter of never having hit the ground hard enough. A sixpack and unconditional love does sound tempting, but for now I'll rather not look down. Even if it doesn't last (but it looks like it may) I'd never forgive myself for not going for it. Ignorance IS bliss, and highly recommended.

Disclaimer: Right now I am sickeningly tired, and thus unresponsible in every way. This post is probably not intended to reflect the opinion of any person, living or dead, and should not be read, period.
