after giving legend a good grooming, i led him to the stable yard. he walked quite well on the lead rope, not skipping from side to side as he sometimes does. i then fitted a girth around his belly and let him adjust to it againm for a while. he had had it on before so he was nmot frightened. i then led him into the schooling ring and lunged him, still with the girth aorund his belly. he adjusted quite well and fast, his gait returning to normal after only a few strides. i then gently placed a small weight under the girth and let him adjust to this. then i lunged him, at all gaits again. he acted as if nothing had changed. i then pulled him in, and slightly tightened the girth. he didn;t like this very much, and continuously blew his stomach in and out. i gave him time, and when he had calm down, and grown used to the tighter girth, i lunged my highly strung TB colt again. he danced around me, a little skittish as he got use to the tightness until he adjusted and relised that it wasn'yt goin to hurt him. i let him move at his own pace around me for a short time, then i cooled him down. i halted him, removed the girth and the weight and praised him for working so well. i then turned him out in the paddock for the rest of the day.
