sorry this isn't the most detailed message on earth, but I've G2G soon, Katie, I will be doing another training session with Renegade on Friday and riding Dalmation & Oreo Play on Saturday.

Renegade: After I brushed him, I saddled him for the first time.Renegade really didn't like the saddle, but once he found out that the saddle wasn't going anywhere when he moved a lot, he stood still I I moved up the cinch one hole at a time. When I had gotten the cinch up to a hole where the saddle was snug and would not slip, I tried getting Renegade to walk with the saddle on.He walked a step, but when he felt the saddle, he stopped in his tracks.I coaxed him forward with a handful of grain.I walked
Renegade around the arena twice before untacking him and putting the Appaloosa colt back in his stall.

Dalmation: I groomed her & tacked hger up before leading her to the outdoor arena at Forever Creek Stables.I used the mounting block and swung into the big western saddle on her back.I walked Dalmation for a little while and got her to keep her head and neck straight & down before moving her up into a jog.Dalmation slowly & steadily moved along at a jog, and after a bit of that, I got her to trot, then lope, & then canter.I worked with her on backing up before I dismounted, untacked Dalmation & put the spotted mare back in her stall.

Oreo Play: I groomed him & then tacked him up.Then, I led him to the outdoor arena and lunged him 4 a while to get rid of his excess energy. Then, I got on him off of the ground.Oreo moved forward the minute her felt me get into the saddle.I pulled back on the reins and fully mounted on to him.I noted to myself that I would have to work on mounting with him.I settled into the saddle and moved Oreo forward into a walk. The big Appaloosa stallion went very fast & tried to trot, but I sat back in the saddle and said "whoaaa," to him. Finally, I resorted to using more contact on the reins and pulling them back so he would slow down.I walked Oreo for a while, and once he settled down, he relaxed his head & neck and dropped them so the martingale he was wearing didn't pull down Oreo's head and neck anymore.I slightly squeezed my legs against Oreo's sides and he sprag into a trot.I slowed him down to a jog and worked on some circles & figure 8's with him @ the jog & trot. After that, I cantered him in a circle at the lope and loped him around the arena, relaxing to the Appaloosa's rocking chair lope.I moved up Oreo into a canter and did a few circles with him so he wouldn't go 2 fast.I then slowed him down to a walk & walked, jogged, trotted, loped & cantered in the other direction before I halted him in the middle of the arena and did a rein-back with him. Then, I did a circle at a lope with him and then moved it up into a circle at a fast canter.I cantered him forward, then made a turn so he was running in the other direction.I got him to hand gallop & then slowed Oreo Play down 2 a walk.I walked him out before dismounting. Then, I untacked him, hosed him off and put him back in his stall before saying good-bye to Katie & driving home to TF.
