After grooming and saddling Memento, who was a lil excited, i lead him into the indoor riding ring which was set up with 2 jumps in the centre. As a warmup i walked him around the outside of the ring, to get his friskyness out of him. I worked on his extended walk and then asked him to break into a canter. It was a foolproof gait change. i canted him around for a while working on his flying changes and turns... then, as he is an eventer after all i decided to work him over some jumps. Although he can jump high ones, i worked him over only 2 low cross bars, focusing more on his jumpiong technique than the jump height. He performed really well despite the fact that last time he was on an actual eventing course, he took off over the jumps a little shakishly, however he loves high fences and it was certainly not the height that intimidated him. Any way after several differebt rounds over the jumps i brought him down to a trot and troted him aorund the ring before walking him to cool him down. Once cooled i took of his saddle and bridle and replaced his halter. i gave him a quick brush over and then let him into the paddock to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. I then returned to the ring and packed away the jumps.

Next i headed back into the barn to fetch my dressage mare, Crystal. after another quick groom i saddled her up and lead her to the indoor ring which was still unattended. i decided to school her in some dressage figures and after a little walking to get her into the mood, i beagn working her in 20metre circles. i extended her walk and made her keep it at the same pace for 3 circles. i then broke her into a trot ande trotted her along the diagonal. At the other end of the ring i cantered her i a 10 meter circle and then cantered her in a 3 loop serpintine. I performed several flYing changes FALTLESSLY! i could tell that the schooling clinic i completed with her, before coming to FCS, had really been a great help. I think she is ready to finally enter a competetition. I cooled her and then released her into her paddoick with her 2 other paddock 'buddies'.
