Gripping Beauty's mane tightly in her fingers, Susan crouched over the mare's withers. Helen pulled Immy up and Susan followed suit, happy to see that they were at the beach. They walked smoothly along and let their horses prance in the surf. Immy snorted and prepared to roll. Helen laughed and pushed they mare out of the water, very quickly. Immy snorted as if to say, excuse me. Beauty lifted her head high in the air, a mischevious glint in her eye, and jerked the reins through a surprised Susan's fingers. "Whoa!" her rider yelled as the mare shot off in a wild gallop, heading for a 2'6" log. Susan clung to mane and gathered the reins. The mare refused to listen and pushed off at the foot of the jump, soaring over it and nearly unseating her rider. Susan pulled her up after the jump and laughed with relief. Helen and Immy popped over the log at a canter. "Are you alright?" Helen asked. Susan nodded and grinned patted Beauty's neck. "This mare is trouble but I love her anyway!" she said lovingly. Suddenly Susan said, "Do you want to switch mounts for a while?"
