I walked into the barn and said hi to Dutchess. I groomed her in her stall, and gave her treats. Then I took her for a walk. Instead of walking, Dutchess waddled! I took her back to her stall and gave her 1 more treat. Then I got
Sparkle out a groomed her quickly. I then saddled her
and lead her outside. I mounted her and we went for a trail ride. I rode for about a 1/2 hour and then I rode Sparkle back. I untacked her a let her have some grass. After that,
I put her away and gave her some treats. I walked over to Courage's stall to see how he was settling in."Hi boy. How are you?" I got him out and groomed him. He seemed to be enjoying it. I thought about whether or not to try riding him and my excitment won. I tack Courage up. I noticed that
that he bacame really excited as I tacked him up. It must be the race horse sid eof him I concluded. I grabbed my helment and my lunge line. I took Courage out to the ring and began to lunge him. At first he ran as fast as he possibly could. Then as time went on he began to slow. I figuired he was tired enough to try to ride. I led hi over to the mounting block. He spooked at the mounting block.
I then remembered that jockeys got a leg up when they mounted so he'd never seem a mounting block before. I careful calmed him down and led him toward the object. He again spooked. After about 5 min. of spooking at the block
I managed to get him to smell it. He then let me mount him from the block. "Good boy!" I said. He walked quietly on the rail. I just let him walk and decided that that was enough for 1 day. I got off him and untacked him. i gave him some treats and put him away. I said goodbye to all of
my horses and went home.
