Subject: riding Miss Congeniality Author: Dana [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 12:55:18 07/17/02 Wed The alram went off and I switched it to the off button.I slept for a few more minutes before getting up.I got up and changede into q pair of flare jeans and a purple Old Navy t-shirt.I combed my hair and then walked down the hall and down the stairs to the kitchen.Alex said "good morning" and kissed me on the cheek.I said "good morning" back and got out some milk and cereal.I ate breakfest and then I went back upstairs and brushed my teeth.Then,I walked out to the barn and into the tackroom in the mares barn.I got out a grooming box and my tack.I walked to Miss Congeniality's stall and set the tack and grooming box outside of it.I walked into the stall and patted Miss C. on the nose.She nuzzled me and then I attached a chain to her halter and started grooming the big, bay Holsteiner mare.Next, I tacked her up,and then I led her to the outdoor arena.I used the mounting block to get onto the tall 16.2 hand horse and cued her to walk.Miss C. stepped forward and walked on.I sat up straight and pushed my heels down into the stirrups, then I walked Miss C. around the arena a few times before cueing her to trot.I posted in time to her bouncy trot and warmed her up at the 2 beat gait.Then, in the south-west corner of the big outdoor arena, I put my outside led behind the girth and squeezed.Miss Congeniality imediatly started cantering.I cnatered her or a while around the arena and then we switched directions and walked,trotted and cantered in that direction.Then, I took Miss C. on a trail ride to the stream and jumped a 4 foot log and a 3'9 stone wall on the way there.After reachin the stream,I let Miss C. have a drink, and then I rdoe her back to TF.I dismounted in the stable yard and led her back to her stall.Then, I untacked her,gave her a carrot and turned the bay Holsteiner mare out in her paddock.Then, I walked to the barn office to look at the training schedule for April, Jade's 2 y/o Arabian filly.
