I walked into the barn. Dutchess greate me with a loud whinny. Flame whinnied loudly too. "Hi guys! How are you today?" I asked them. I gave Dutchess a treat and decided to ride Sparkle first today. "Hi Sparkle. How's my pretty girl today?" Sparkle nickered gently at me. I groomed her
and tacked her up. We walked out to the ring and I mounted.
I warmed Sparkle up in each direction, doing transitions, circles, and serpintines. When I was finished with this part of my ride Sparkle was bending beautifully. I let her
walk for a min. before asking her to jump a little cross rail line. We jumped all of the other fences in the ring. they were all 2ft. I Then raised the jumps to 2'6". I remounted and picked up the canter and headed for the first fence. It was a fake stone wall. Sparkle's ears were forward
and she had the pefect spot on the fence. She sailed over it in good form. We landed and both of us focuced on the next fence 5 strides away. It was a brushbox. Sparkle looked at it a bit but jumped it anyway because I added extra leg at the fence. I looked around the turn in the course, looking at the green rolltop single I was about to jump. Sparkle cleared it with no problems. Once we got down to the other end of the ring I turned and eyed up the other outside line. The first jump was a simple brown gate with haybales in front of it followed by a fake brick wall.
The jumps were a slow 5 strides apart. As we aproached the first fence I sat back and asked Sparkle to slow down alittle. She responded beautifully and we got the 5. The last line was a red gate by its self followed by a solid looking natural plank jump. Sparkle didn't disapoint me. She jump that line just as good as the others. I cantered
the final circle and then walked. I gave her a big pat
and cooled her out. I took her into the barn and untacked
her. I gave her a treat and put her away. i then groomed Courage and tacked him up. I took him out to the ring. I decided to try to ride him with out lunging him first. He was good. we walked, troted, and even cantered in both directions nicely. I cooled him off on a trailride to the bid field that I rode Sparkle in yesterday. When we got back
I untacked him and put him in his stall. i gave him a treat before I went to groom Dutchess and Flame. Flame acctually stood still while I groomed him, he even let me brush his mane and tail Dutchess was her normal good self. I said goodbye to all my horses and then went home.
