Okay, he admitted it bluntly. It had been a long and strenuous day for him, what with a guilt-driven captain-at-arms on leave to search for his son, the disappearance of his own son, the cold shoulder his daughter had turned upon him for some time, a severe headache and an empty stomach added up to a sum unworthy of another surprise. However, as he does not know of it yet, the king performs his kingly duties and continues to sort of the 'red tape' behind the laws and stereotypes of true royalty.

He looks up upon her entry, and soundly does an invisible foot give him a kick in the gut. He knows immediately that something was afoot...besides the one that had kicked him. ((AN: Reeeeallly bad, bad pun...)) And for some very complex moments, the words of her knews passes form her lips and unto his ears that seems to curl and boil with shock the moment he truth was out.

It seems, for the longest time, that he had lost all sense and he, with his light brown hair flecked with gery, his arthritic hands so sore from constantly bearing a quill, his optimistic gaze dulled and still enough room for a slight twitching og his lip -- a promise that the shock had registered, but was not quite into play. Yet.

His quill is frozen in his hand, but he manages to turn a stiff neck towards her. Hard as he tried, the stutter in his voice could not be subdued. "S-Ser...are you...absolutely sure? You are not...merely feeling ill? A...a child..."

The king's body collapses, it seems. He falls back into his chair, becoming rather limp in form with and arm bent above his head and his palm flat across his eyes.
