Albert Einstien, Hal Linsey, Isaac Newton... and opps! You said to name one. Sorry.
"mostly the conventional religions. but an absolute
belief in life after death is to me a symptom of
weakness, a desire to comfort oneself with falsehoods".
Okay, what if I told you that I wish there was not a life after death, so I could finally just not exist any more simply because I'm tired of existing. BUT! I do believe in an after life, because I don't want to cut any of my corners. I want to keep my mind as open as possible, because the after life hasn't been proven, but it hasn't been disproven either. Understand?
Their are too many people in the modern world who still believe in mysticism, faith, & a higher power. It's true that conventional religions are losing their people to Agnostic, Atheist, Humanist and so forth ideas. But look, their's still people who don't find the conventional religions to their liking usually go to a gnostic belief. So I don't believe that the belief in an after life or a higher being will fade.. it'll just be compromised.
