Shorting Patty, is bad. It is the most usafe form of playing stocks with the least amount of profit percentage wise involved. Just not worth the risk. I truly feel it is a pure form of gambling with the possibility to take away everything with unlimited bankruptcy size potential of downside. I told this friend of mine, since last fall, that come the end of March he must be at least 90% cash. I too had planned to do this, but ignored my own advice until almost too late. This friend heeded to my advice almost too late also. Finaly yesterday, he cut 2/3 of his positions. Off my prior tips from the fall to just before the carnage, he was up a modest 300%. However and lucky for him, he is to the break even stage, not yet lost any of the original investment. With the prices as low as they are and headed more likely lower, he could invest and feel ok about it since the prices of stocks when he started trading are much lower than before. I for one will pick the stocks that are making money and not losses. Be carefull sweatheart about this summer, for there will be that downside with the low volume durring the last month/buying opportunity at the bottom. That may be what you are getting at, and if so, I will be there at your side, those few times a year to buy, followed by those few times a year to dump and run and WAIT patiently. At you later green eyed girl.
