Subject: "That works," Lialye comments, watching. "So you're waterproofing them now, is that it?" Normally she wouldn't say this much, but she's trying to focus on nothing but the present right now and that sometimes means, in this case at least, changing customary behaviors.

I actually liked Honk. My personal opinion is that, fickle microphones set aside (why did it have to be /Ida's/ mic that didn't work?), considering the directing we did very well. Or at least, the geese did very well, even though no one knew exactly when/how to die that first night because we'd never rehearsed it before and stuff...yesh...

*mumbles under breath about said directing*

But you know what? Mum's made it clear that I am NOT missing another day of driver's ed, and that if the Beast has a problem with it, Mum'll talk to her and "it may not be pretty, but she needs to learn to work with people". I nearly crowed with delight when she said that.

I found it quite interesting that one of Mum's biggest concerns afterwards was that we did almost nothing fun or really creative for the set or the costumes. I mean, I can kinda see the Beast's point, but why didn't we just go through the costume department and pull out random things like the junior high production appeared to have done? They had an AWESOME set and BRILLIANT costumes.

And your mum said something weird the night she came. I found her afterwards, and she asked me, "You take dance, don't you?" I replied, "Ummm...no...I took a class in 8th grade, but that was all..." and then she said that I'd danced really well. Which is weird, because I've always thought myself a bit stiff and whatnot when it came to dancing, and certainly not "good" at it. It was really weird...I mean, it's awesome as a compliment, but...nyeh. O.o
