Again Tim you make some good points. But again I have questions and concerns about the Niner front office. it seems to me that I see a lack of aggessiveness in the forty niner brass that concerns me. It all started last year around draft time. remember when Forty Niner management said that they were only looking to find second and third string players to add depth? So even though at this stage of the game they were in need of a second wide out and another pass rusher they ended up with an average ( I'll give them a c-)draft. They decided to be layed back for the draft last year and since that was the only source they utilized for upgradeing players it seemed that our offense and especally our defense took a step back.Ok, I know you can blame that on marruci but stay with me for a second. Next, in the hunt for a new coach managements first choice at one point was the defensive coordinator at Tampa Bay, Kiffin. But the niners waited to make a move on him giving Tampa Bay a chance to make an offer and keep thier beloved defensive coach. According to Sports Illustrated if the Niners would have moved quicker they probably would have gotten their man since they were probably going to offer him more money but again they waited to long, again not being aggressive. Now I know that Donahue was caught off guard and did not know that York was going to fire mooch but you would think that they could of gotten their act together a little better. Then you look at the coach hiring process over all which took a long time. A lot of evaluation ect. and you see again; layed back no fire, no aggessively going after who you want. Now I know many are saying that that was a good thing, that long process was exact, all the T's were crossed and the i's dotted but I remember a coaching search that was similar several years ago. Thats when Jerry Jones hired Chan Gaily for the Dallas Cowboys. Again a long drawn out, layed back search. Again all the T's were crossed and the i's dotted. The result of which was several losing seasons. Jerry at one point said that there are a 100 coaches out there who could coach the cowboys. He is singing a different tune now of course. Now the forty niners are going into free agency and again nothings happening, no fire. I think its very, very ironic that the niners front office continued to critize Mooch for being unaggressive and conservative but are slow moving and conservative in going afeter players and coaches them selves. My concern is that the forty niners seem too layed back with a general manager and owner who are unproven and whos decisions so far are questionable. But ok Tim I will try and be patient but of course, as you know most of us forty niner fans don't have alot of that commodity.
