Terry,Terry,Terry: Your mistake is judging and listening to people who judged last years draft too soon. After we got to see the players perform in training camp(I was a regular there) and some later on during the season we can judge them a little better, they gave us a glimps of what they probably will become.

We agree that Rumph is better suited to be a safety .He may be a bust at corner but at safety he may be a star,he has it all and is quite fast for a safety!

Chandler is a fine field goal maker BUT he was not good at kick offs(he was injured so we will have to wait to see if he is better when healthy).

Shaw was injured almost all year(but they knew that when they drafted him, that's why they stole him at such a low pick when he was supposed to go in the 1st round if healthy)He WILL be a very good one if not a super star.

Safety Kevin Curtis is a very fast safety and the Niners love him but as you know he was injured and placed on IR.Another possible great draft pick from last year(they are adding up,aren't they?)

Brandon Doman was the record setting QB at BYU and was highly recommended by Steve Young( and also trained with Young) as our QB of the future so he also may turn out to be a GREAT draft pick(he looked very good in camp).

Eric Heitmann was obviously a great draft pick because he took over for an injured Fiore and never looked back. He played GREAT for a rookie and will only improve with his off season training program and with his year experience he will be a fixture on our line for years to come!

And while I am mentioning linemen I must mention Kyle Kosier. The Niners love this guy and although he didn't get as much time in as Heitmann did he did get in a few games and he looked pretty darn good. The Niners see him and Heitmann as their future.(draft looking better to you now?)

Saleem Rasheed ,in my opinion is a Jammie Winborn clone(unfortunatly he was injured like Winborn). He should start along side of Winborn and Peterson either this season or 2004 if he needs the experience of another year before they think he is ready. When that happens we will have the best and fastest and youngest LB's in the NFL!

If you don't think that was one of the greatest 49ers drafts in years then I don't know what I can say to help you see it.You will just have to wait to see the players develope and then you will look back on the 2002 draft and say it was one of their best.If some of them continue with their injuy prone ways and they never live up to their potential then it will only be a very good draft instead of what looks to be a really great draft,we shall see.
TIM
