So, yeah. I got laid off this afternoon. After next Friday, I'll be unemployed.

I'm shining up my resume right now. Am seriously thinking about relocating, since the same circumstances that led to me being laid off are going to affect the entire region where I live.

Any job-hunting advice would be appreciated.

I got my job in the Ninth Level of Hell (read Blue Cross/Blue Shield) by going to a job fair. I did research on Monster and checked out local websites for jobs.

But if you want to relocate, I think the internet would be a good source of leads. But use people you know, too. Connections make all the difference. Plus, you'd at least know somebody in the area if you got a job there.

Good luck!

I wish I had hints and helps for you. I got my job thru an ad in the local paper; but it also helped that I knew the Regional Operations Manager. So, yeah, connections help.

Certainly you have a wide range of Internet friends and acquaintances that might be able to help, since you're willing and able to relocate.

Hoping for a quick resolution!
