Eh Fletcher, so what is the reason behind the fact that a DA fighter cannot get SOH? Why not? Even if that's the case, it will not hurt at all to do well. It might even pay more to do well and be the best. In the SAF, you have your curriculum vitae as officer/spec/trainee. Its a dossier of all reports. rankings and appraisals written by your instructors. With no SOH, they will come to recognise your grades and appraisals even more. Always keep in mind that merit pays, can't escape it. Can't rebel against the system, so make it work for you. Either that or be a civilian :D Did they offer you any scholarship
