The greatest happiness does not lie in being happy ourselves, but in bringing happiness to others. Some of you are so focused in your own happiness that you have forgotten about the happiness of others. You have forgotten that your juniors have a small team team. How would they be able to stand up against the mighty HC and RJ canoeing team, as well as the less estabished teams which have sprung up recently. Do you want them to see them cry after every race, feeling frustrated and sad because they have let everyone down by not being able to equal your achievement? Do you want them to go down into history as one of the mediocre teams? Do you think that they will be happy then, knowing that their limits are actually way beyond what they know, only after Nat. Sch.? Some of you are so focused on yourself that you totally misunderstood the intention of my message. I was preparing to give my all for your juniors, but you choose to believe that I am trying to hurt them. I have also been so proud of your achievement even though I feel sad that I am not able to bring you further, but some of you choose to believe that I am trying to put you down.

I am not teaching 'canoeing', but 'fighting'.The 'fighter' comes before the 'principles' which comes before the 'wisedom' which comes before the 'happiness'. "Fighers are trained, not born." You lost in March because you were not fighters then, because you were not trained to be one. I did not live a single day of my life since the SDBACC regretting that I had not given my very best in training you before March. I will not make the same mistake again.

I am not angry with all of you because I know not everything I do is right, but I am just feeling a little sad. If you still have doubts over my actions and beliefs, take over my place for one year and you will know how much sacrifices I have to make to transform a team like yours. I love your team with nothing less than my heart and soul. To be honest with you, I put my teaching career and relationship with my wife on the line... I am stupid enough to pay for the new K2 for the team entirely on my own... BUT I DID MORE THAN ALL THESE WITHOUT REGRETS. I WILL DO IT ONE MORE TIME NEXT YEAR FOR YOUR JUNIORS WITH NO REGRETS. I WILL LOVE YOU JUST AS MUCH EVEN IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE DONE, simple because I am a fighter.
