Are the PtB really the same gods or different gods using humans and demons as pawns in a larger chess game that really has nothing to do with good or evil for good or evil's sake, but it's all about the god's whims and fancies?

Just like the Greek god's interactions with humans. They didn't care about humans except to use them for their own purposes. Some gods may have cared a little, but not much.
