You might as well ask "why does a waitress in a posh restaurant expect a tip when their job is to bring you your food"? Not all waiters get tips regularly. That's just like not all Cabdrivers get tips regularly. If all you are getting is door to door service, DON'T TIP! If, on the other hand, you get PLEASANT door to door service, then tip accordingly. Date Posted: 06:04:49 07/25/01 Wed I think as a taxi service provider I try to follow one rule about tipping that I think is important. NEVEEREXPECT A TIP. Theres a reason they call it a "gratuity". Do I want a tip? Sure, I just think I get better tips by not expecting one. Besides those that overtip make up for the ones that don't. |
