I think as a taxi service provider I try to follow one rule about tipping that I think is important. NEVEEREXPECT A TIP. Theres a reason they call it a "gratuity". Do I want a tip? Sure, I just think I get better tips by not expecting one. Besides those that overtip make up for the ones that don't.

Not like a waitress where you can just pay and walk out, these guys seem to consider it a power play over you, when they feel they can control your fate with the 5 cent tip or without.
