I'm in a town where the cops actually back us up, so, YMMV. Off the top of my head: 1) Damage to the vehicle, where the fare is unable or unwilling to immediately provide cash to cover the damage. 2) Imminent violence (a given, I should think) 3) Run-offs IF I know where the fare is, and IF I think the fare plus wait-time for the cops to arrive is more than I'll make if I just eat the loss and leave. This is only theoretical though. Most of my fares are to large apartment complexes. I've never had anyone dumb enough to just jump out and run into his house. 4) Anybody being enough of a jackass that I decide to boot him out, who won't leave.
