• She'd been dosing lightly, but when she heard her door open she let her blue eyes open up to see who it was. She gave a soft smile to see one of her brothers, closing her eyes for a moment before opening them to watch him "Hey Joey..." Ryan had gone to pick his parents up from the airport - which was probably a good thing since Joey wasn;t a fan of him- especially since he'd broken her heart. "Ryan tried to call you... but Nina had your cell..." She murmured, letting out a soft breath. She had stitches on her pretty face and a swollen lip- she looked like she'd done ten rounds in the ring, rather than fall onto a solid log and into a ditch, but she was slightly more lucid now- though feeling just as depressed and used. • He most likely would have killed the kid right there in the hospital - at least he would have had prompt medical care. He stepped up to the side of his sisters bed, his eyes drifting over her body slowly, his jaw clenched. It was taking everything in him not tell her that she would never be allowed on another animal again but Nina had warned him about saying things rashly and just pissing off his sister. His brow furrowed a little as he let out a soft breath. "Nina wanted to come but it's still a bit cold to take the baby out..." He murmured, shifting his weight as he watched her a little unsurely. • Lacey tried a smile, letting out a soft breath as she watched Joey, seeing how tense he was "Nina and the baby have spent enough time in this hospital..." She let her pale blue eyes flicker over him, her blonde curls facing her face in the hospital pillows "I'm sorry about this... don't be angry... it was just an accident..." She didn;t want him to do or say anything rash, it really couldn;t have been helped... well perhaps it could if Harvey hadn;t been an idiot but Joey didn;t need to know about that... • "I'm not angry with you." He wasn't angry with her, he was angry with the rest of the world. He was tired and grumpy and sick of being in this hospital and sick of thinking on how he was going to pay this hospital bill now. It wasn't like Rio could pay for it again. Shifting, he tugged a chair over to the edge of the bed and sat down, his hands folding in a tent on his knee's, his chin resting on them. "Are you in a lot of pain?" He questioned, his brow furrowed. "When are they going to release you?" • His jaw clenched at that as he rested his eyes on his siter. "I didn't even bring up the kids name, Lacey." He stated before he looked to the clock and then looked back to her, wondering when Jason would get there. Shockingly, Jay was the more reasonable of the two and could handle things like this so much better. "Did they say when you could leave?" He questioned again since she hadn't answered that part. He really did want to just tuck her in to her bed, maybe have Kaden or Rio stand out in front of her door...they were both big and intimidating. Well, Kaden was more of a 'I have a switchblade and I am quick and feisty' type of intimidating but hell, still intimidating. • her eyes flickered over him gently before smiling a little "You didn;t have to... you're just radiating hate." She closed her eyes for a moment , hating the smells and sounds around her. She hated hospitals. "They havent told me yet... I don;t know..." She opened her eyes to him again, their blue depths almost pleading with his "You don't have to stay... I just wanted you to know where I was so you wouldn;t worry..." Not that her being in a hospital wouldn;t make him worry... "Did you call Jason? Is he coming?" • "I am not going anywhere until I am taking you home." He stated firmly, shifting to lean back against the back of the chair and rest his head back. "I called Jason and he will be on his way as soon as he is done with work. I let him know you were alright and told him he didn't have to leave, that I would be here until he could be." He smirked lightly, watching her. "Trying to get rid of me already?" He questioned, wondering if he should go ask a nurse or a doctor how long it would be until she could be released. • She smiled a little as he asked if she was trying to get rid of him" No... but you can't stay you have a family that needs you home with them" She murmered softly. The meds she was on kept her pretty heavily sedated against the pain. Other than her lacerations to her face and limbs there wasn't much else visiably wrong with her- she'd been lucky, it was the length of time she'd been unconscious for that worried them and they wanted to give her another CT scan after they'd let her rest for a while, tonight would be her second night in here - and if it was upto her she'd be home asap. • "And you, butterfly, are an important part of that family. Nina understands that I need to be here for now and Rio is looking out for her at home." He knew the other man would be at Nina's beck and call if needed even though Rio definiately had his own shit going on. Their house was soon to have more children than grown ups if things kept on at this rate. "So tell me what happened before you fall asleep." He stated, more than questioned. • She let her eyes close a moment, just for a second or two, before looking back up at him, tears in her blue eyes, not really sure where to start but decide the less he knew the less stressed and angry he'd be, She didn;t want him to get in any trouble on her account. "I was riding Spencer on the trails... the person I was riding with wanted to jump... so we went intot he feild to jump... and I was coming to a fence and the other person came up beside Spencer on their horse... and he thought it was a race and was going to fast... I couldn;t stop him and he jumped wrong and fell ontop of me... on the log jump...." • His jaw clenched and he fought the urge to tell her that she wasn't going to be associating with any of these people ever again. That they would figure out another way for her to keep riding and doing all the stuff she wanted without being with this kid and his rich family. It pissed him off and made him feel like he wasn't doing enough for his own sister. Was he so busy taking care of the rest of the house that he was neglecting Lacey? Not giving her enough attention? • She was always afraid that he would think that she spent so much time with them because he didn;t do enough for her... and it wasn't the case at all- she just loved being there- Eliza had given her a job there so she could bring in some money- help pay her way in the house so she wasn;t depeneding on her brothers, and they'd helped her get her highschool diploma, taught her to ride, took her competing, treated her like a daughter. She loved both of her families but she hated the thought that neither approved of the other. It wans;t that what Joey and Jason could offer her wasn;t good enough- it was just that she'd finally found something she had a real passion for- somehting she was really good at. • He had no idea she was living this second life elsewhere and if he did he would feel like the ultimate failure as a guardian. He knew he had a lot of stuff going on in his life but he tried his best to spread himself evenly over everything and give himself to everyone, be there for everyone's needs and taking care of everyone whenever they needed him. It was a lot of responsability and although he had grown up young, through it all he was still just a young man. "What are you going to do with all your free time then?" She had only been thinking about what had happened- not what was going to happen.... and Harvey certainly wouldn;t be in the picture anymore- not after what he'd done. She might be naive but she wasn't a fool. "I could start looking more closely at scholarships for the fall... start doing some reading and that..."
