"I brought distractions." He held out a box of Maria's cookies and the magazine in front of him and set them on her bedside table. "How are you? Jen at the nursing station told me you only have a couple more days before they're going to consider discharging you... "

She looked up at him and smiled gently "Thanks for the distractions... I'm feeling a lot better... though I'm asleep most of the time cos of the drugs... It'll be good to get home though...
