Subject: In a panic, he shoved the letter between the couch cushions and with her voice let his stress fade away, a broad smile covering his features as he covered her hands with his own. "I don't know.... Maria?" He laughed a little bit and took her hands away from his face, tugging her over the back of the couch and directly into his lap. "Hey baby." He gave her several pronounced kisses on her forehead and lips and nestled her up against him. "You're cold!"
