He was exhausted after trying to stay on top of things for exams and Christmas and finally had reached his breaking point during his break when the school had mailed him a letter stating he had failed the semestre... He wasn't expecting Lacey for another half hour, so he was just sitting in the living room, his parents off preparing for their large planned New Year's party, and feeling sorry for himself. Even though the house was empty, he was ever checking over his shoulder to make sure no one was reading - he didn't need this getting to Lacey or his parents..
