Subject: my first civil war camp hunt, and an invitation

hello all,
its been a few months since my last post, but i havent metal detected in a while. Ive mostly been arrowhead hunting with my dad since the gound is so dry and hard as concrete here in upper S.C. . I did go to a Civil War camp site with a freind and found my first mini ball, along with alot of 135 year old nails and such. I still loved the hunt and now im hooked on relic hunting. The nails i was told were tore down from houses the Yanks invaded and used for fire wood, (the wood the nails were in i mean)
The real reason im posting today is to invite you to our local treasure hunting club. Its called the South Carolina treasure hunters and relic club. We meet on the first tuesday of every month at the west main church of the nazerene in Rock Hill S.C..(E-mail me for directions) I know it will be hard for you to make all the meetings every month if you live a long way from Rock Hill, but we have a nice spring and fall organized hunt every year for members and it is fun for the whole family. At every meeting we have a best finds of the month contest. The catagories are , best coin silver, best coin other, pre 1865 military relic, relic other, best find , and eye spy, eye spy is something cool you have found that month not using a detector. The main rule is you have to have found it the month preveous to the meeting. The prizes are usually are a silver rosey for 3rd, a silver merc for second and a draw for either a silver quarter , half or dollar for first. There is also a points for a years most points prize. You get 4 points for 1st prize that month, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 1 for an entry. We also have a door prize, usually a silver half. and a dollar per ticket draw at the end of each meeting. Usually a silver round or something. During the meeting we talk about anything from gold hunts to what our next organized hunt is going to be. Its alot of clean family fun , and i encourage you to come and be my guest. E- mail if you are intrested at wolfiehowl@hotmail.com. happy hunting as always............Chuck
