Thank you, Penny, for your post on Dec. 22.
I should always be remembered that the J2b1b DNA occurred some 15,000 (+ or - 5,000 yrs.) years ago, long before any idea of a "Jewish" or "Hebrew" race ever entered anyone's mind. One does not need to be Jewish to be of J2b1b DNA, obviously. About 4% of Scotland is J1b1 DNA. J2b1 is virtually absent in Europe and is found only in diverse forms in the Near East. It's found mostly in Azerbaijan and the former soviet Georgia. It's also found in higher numbers in Albania and Kosovo. This was the DNA of those who created the modern world, by inventing farming and domesticating goats, cattle and horses. The DNA most likely to have developed along the coast of the Black Sea region, between it and the Caspian Sea. As far as Europeans are concerned, the people carrying the DNA at some point moved to Turkey. They may have survived the great flood of the Black Sea about 7,200 B.C. and traveled across the Marmara to establish a colony on the north side. Due to this I believe Utna-Pishtim (Noah) was probably of this DNA since it is found most strongly around the area he is said to have occupied. I believe it is the first and original bloodline of Kings and Nobles.
The DNA traveled to Europe and may have developed the Hallstatt and La Tene cultures starting around the area on Vienna. The J2 DNA is found to a great degree in the Phoenician population as well. The DNA as a result is found mostly around costal regions of Italy, Spain and Greece. Giving rise to the idea that the bearers of this DNA may have made their living by fishing. This is where the Jews come in. They were known to be J2 DNA and possibly of Phoenician stock. They were descendants of the Denyen Sea Peoples who joined with the Hebrews. They were excluded from the list of sealed tribes in the Book of Revelations for pagan practices, but were given a northern portion of the future Israel according to the Book of Ezekiel. Their primary trade characteristic was seafaring, this was unusual for the Israelite tribes. In a battle with Phoenicians, in the Song of Deborah the tribe is said to have stayed on their ships with their belongings. I imagine this is because they were related to the Phoenicians as well. To participate in such a battle would have been to chose sides in a matter in which they were related to both sides in the struggle. The Tribe of Dan is usually represented by a serpent.
J and I are the two largest DNAs by volume in Jewish peoples. To an only slightly lesser degree is DNAs G and E. The next small DNA by volume is Q and R1b. The next six DNA are the smallest by volume in the Jewish community: L, O, N, H, T, and R1a.
