Post 360 A: Trump's gift to Putin, the Nuclear Codes
In political matters I have long been an Independent. I had been and still am an enthusiast supporter of Bernie Sanders.
I was quite upset upon the revelation by Trump's K.G.B. Putin sponsored spies, that Hillary Clinton and Debra Wisserman Sholtz, via Clinton's e-mails, that they had conspired to sabotage Bernie's campaign. I was upset so much so that I thought about voting for Trump. The two things which changed my mind were when Trump said ministers should have more freedom to voice their opinion from the pulpit.
I strongly disagree. As far as I am concerned the price of admission in the political process is the paying of taxes. Churches don't pay taxes. When churches pay taxes, they can have a voice. If a minister, priest, mullah or rabbi wishes come down off the pulpit and state his or her opinion as Joe common nobody, without using their ecclesiastical title. Then they have the right to do so. The second thing was Trump's endorsement of Trickle Down Economics. After all, what could be wrong with taking money from the poor and middle class and giving it to the wealthy and well to do? What could be wrong, EVERYTHING! It's a failed policy that has never worked. Is not going to work. Never will work. All it has done is run the nation into extreme debt and vastly increase poverty and despair. The wealthy the money is given to are not job creators. Unless you wish to consider creating jobs in India, China and South Korea as jobs created? Which does not help, but certainly does hurt U.S. manufacturing jobs here at home.
In my humble opinion Hillary Clinton sacrificed the Democratic Parties chances of victory on the alter of her own greed and lust for power. Even after the dastardly sabotage of Bernie Sanders there existed tremendous support for him and his campaign. The winning move would have been to offer Bernie Sanders the Vic-Presidency. Yet she had so much vehement dislike for her rival that she sacrificed the Democratic Parties chance for the White House.
Donald Trump:
Donald Trump is a demagogue in the most extreme sense of the word. He's a popular leader of a mob, or rabble. Demagogues advocate action, usually immediate violent intimidation without any deliberation (clear-headed thought or discussion). They make a point of appealing to the uneducated, uninformed lower classes. Demagogues appeal directly to the emotions, especially to that of the poor and lower-middle classes. In pursuit of power a demagogue will tell lies, stir up hysteria, and exploit crises to intensify popular support for a call to immediate action. Demagogues will accuse opponents of weakness and or disloyalty to the nation.
Methods of Demagogues:
1. Scapegoating - blaming their group's troubles on a group of a different ethnicity, religion, or social class.
2. Fearmongering - evoking fear in their audiences to stir them to action and prevent deliberation.
3. Lying - while any politician needs to point out the dangers in their opponents policies. Demagogues are opportunistic. They monitor the people saying whatever will generate the most heat and anger. When one lie doesn't work, they quickly switch to another lie.
4. Emotional speech and personal charisma - the demagogue uses speech that appeals to the emotions of the common class to stir action and prevent any clear thought or deliberation.
5. Accusing opponents of weakness and disloyalty: self evident.
6. Promising the impossible: Demagogues make promises only for their emotional effect on audiences, without regard for how they might be accomplished or without intending to honor them once in office. Such as the deportation of 11 million people.
7. Violence and physical intimidation - demagogues encourage their supporters to violently intimidate opponents, both to solidify loyalty among their supporters and to discourage or physically prevent people from speaking out or voting against them.
8. Personal insults and ridicule - demagogues use ridicule or insults against opponents as a simple way to shut down reasoned deliberation of competing ideas, especially with ignorant audiences.
9. Vulgarity and outrageous behavior - legislative bodies are sober standards of decorum that are intended to quiet passions and favor reasoned deliberation. Demagogues violate standards of decorum outrageously to show they are thumbing their noses at established order and genteel ways of the upper class.
10. Gross oversimplification - treating complex problems as if it results from one simple cause and can be solved by one simple cure.
11. Attacking the news media - News media, in the past having been the harbingers of truth, can undermine a demagogue's spell over his followers. Thus many demagogues call for violent action against the press. Often claiming the press was secretly in the service of moneyed interests or foreign powers. Or that the press were in service to the "other" party.
As anyone not under the spell of Cognitive Dissonance can see, Donald Trump is the poster boy for a demagogue. I had heard it said that not only has Trump stiffed (not paid) contractors who have worked for him. But he has also done the same to almost every major bank in the USA. To the point that they will no longer loan to him. This, if true, I suspect is the reason trump is in bed with Putin. Because Putin is the only source of him achieving a loan. Suppose for a moment Putin had offer Trump a deal to wipe out all his debts. What could it be? What could Trump provide that Putin couldn't get anywhere else? Putin has many billions of dollars he's stolen from the Russian people, so money can't be the cause.
The only thing Trump can provide, if elected President, that Putin could not get anywhere else is the United States Nuclear Codes! That's right, the codes to our nuclear missiles. If Trump turns those over to Putin in exchange for eradication of his debts, it's GAME OVER for us as a nation. That would be Check Mate.
The only hope we have as a nation is the Electoral College. They meet to vote on December 19th. They were created by our Founding Fathers specifically to prevent a Demagogue from ever gaining control over the United States. If the Electoral College fails to do its job, then there is no reason for it to exist any longer. But that may be a mote point. If we no longer have control over our nuclear codes, we no longer have sovereign control over our nation. It, our, your fate would then be in the hands of a Russian K.G.B. despot.
Well played American. You may have lost the independence for all of us because of your ignorance, selfishness, and bigotry. Well played my friend, well played.
