Well, it seem the Republicans have won both the House and Senate. The Republican, a.k.a. Fox News 'Wage The Dog' strategy of disinformation, attack and balm it on the other guy, hold the opponent back and keep him from doing anything - then blame him ( President Obama) for not doing anything, has worked well. This and the fact that most Americans, particularly the young, have the memory capacity of a fire fly.
Then the U.S. public bought it, hook line and sinker; Lord love 'um!
What has, and is, the Republican Political Party been called for years?
Answer: the party of the rich!
President Clinton signed NAFTA and GATT at the behest of who?
Answer: the Republicans Congress. They, the Republicans, said "it was the only good thing he ever did in office."
NAFTA and GATT, by the was, sent American jobs out of the U.S.A.
They also asked him to sign away Glass-Steagell, the bill that was put in place after the 1929 Stock Market crash. It, Glass-Steagell, prevented lending institutions (Banks) from engaging in risky business ventures.
By signing it away it allowed Banks and other lending institutions to gamble with the American publics money. Selling mortgages and penny stacks that weren't worth crap and rebranding them as a pot of Gold. This led to the 2008 Stock Market Crash. Many of the wealthy, including those in Congress, saw it coming and got out early. Allowing the American public the privilege of taking the hit.
Thus this year 2014 Fox News, the disinformation machine of the rich / Republican Party, worked its magic. The Republicans have even talked about starting another propaganda news channel since Fox has worked so wonderfully well.
To the Democrats, as was said in the movie 'BULWORTH' "you got to put down that malt-liquor and chicken wings" and go vote. Or so to speak.
Well, perhaps America got what it deserves. The Republican accused Pres. Obama of not doing anything. Then every time Obama proposed a bill the Republicans staled it until it was dead. Including providing bullet-proof vests for law enforcement agencies that couldn't afford them. The Republican wouldn't do it unless the money came out of Social Security. Which Obama WOULDN'T DO!
Thus the hostage takers, the Republicans, got what they wanted from the American public. Now if we can only get a Republican President the taxes on the Wealthy and Corporations can be lowered and that burden shifted to add those taxes to the backs of the already struggling middle class, while the poor can loss more social benefits. Those on Social Security can gave their retirement checks frozen or cut back. All so the wealthy can have more, and more.
As I have said in the past on this board, If you make less then $250,000 a year and have a family net worth less then $1,000,000 and still vote Republican, the you, my friend, are a FOOL.
