Ah yes, most people (including myself) thought it would be Philly vs. Oakland. Au contraire. The Bucs are here and they have peaked at the right time.

Remember the Patriots last year? They had a horrendous start in the 2001 season. While Tampa's current run is different from the Pats' situation last year, the fact remains that the big game is something in which they have earned their part.

Now, we all know that the Pats won the AFC in last year's playoffs because of the tuck rule, right? Oakland was everyone's favorite even though they did not have home field. Of course, no way was NE gonna get past St. Louis. It's all about heart with some talent thrown in as well.

While I relish the fact that the Saints swept Tampa in the regular season, the black and gold had a huge letdown just like 2001. The Saints started out on fire.

Moral: You can be good early, but can you get the job done in the long run. Fellow fans: it is not a sprint, but a marathon.

I see a very good game happening next Sunday. The Bucs' secondary held McNabb in check many times yesterday. He had so much time to throw the ball a lot of times, but Lynch, Barber, and co. held the receivers in check for most of the day. McNabb felt pressure several times too.

The way to beat the Raiders is to pressure Gannon constantly. Tampa has the studs in their defensive front to make that happen.

All that said, I am picking Tampa obviously. The score will be something like 20-17.

Happy Super Bowl parties to all!
