Your post rings so true. I may have more than $10 to my name right now, but it's associated with Mr. Logan's name and the Loganettes. So, it's not really mine. I can't just pick up and go anywhere. There are obligations. I guess the decision to make a family was the decision to give up the freedom to pick up and go at a moment's notice. Heck, even planning wouldn't make a difference. There's no money left after the mortgage, dance lessons, doctor co-pays, braces, etc.

Thirty years ago, when I graduated high school, I thought about a dream life where I could travel, learn, read, listen, watch, etc.

Through the eyes of my daughters I see things I never saw, but it's different than actually seeing them myself. They have dreams of travel, learning, meeting people, seeing things. At this point, I am dreaming for them.

I never completed my formal education, but now I have to think of their college tuitions and books and board.

Sometimes I feel lost or swallowed up in "what might have been."

I believe you will make the time to see places, hear music, meet people. You might need to rethink your job, how you save money, how you spend it, if you can invest it so it can earn more for you. Yeah, sometimes you gotta think like a grownup, and that's tough. It gets in the way of the dreaming.

I hope you can arrange another meeting with M&M. Sounds like that was wonderful.
