At his kiss to her head, her eyes slid lightly shut for a long moment, and then fluttered open again to meet his gaze, head ducked shamefully. "I don't even know why I do this..." She admitted finally, regret lining her voice and her far-too-young features. She never defined 'this', but she was speaking mostly on the whole - about everything that she did in general.

He just wrapped his arm tighter around her, tugging her closer to him so he could draw her into his lap and hug her close to his body - as if his arms could block out all the demons that were chasing her.
