He wandered towards the busier part of the strip of road, leaving his expensive car tucked away. His plane had just landed and he wasn't ready to go back to a possibly empty apartment so he headed out here, dark glasses covering his steel gray eyes, face set as he took the new scene in, clearly unimpressed witht he calibre of people running around here lately. He muttered under his breath as he lit a smoke, heading into one of his old haunts "Fucking kids..." A few of the older staff looked up at him with recognition, a waitress heading over as he slipped into his usual booth, trying to make conversation with him as he ordered a Jack Daniels.

Just finished with classes for the summer, she had been dragged out here by some friends for a celebration of sorts. It had been a long time since she had been down here - school and finals and work had kept her thankfully busy, and she hadn't taken much time for going out. Tonight she had even dressed for the occasion and the warm weather - a black pleated skirt the ended well above her knees and light black jacket over a simple, delicate pale purple cami. Rolling her eyes, she allowed herself to be pulled to the bar to help order drinks - one of her friends looping his arm around her neck as he teased her about being a hermit... It was hardly like that - she hadn't even thought about being with anyone after he was gone, even though she had been mad, and he had been the one that left- but she didn't even bother to explain. She just brushed a short strand of hair from her eyes and tugged a touch at the hem of her shirt. "I'm great, thanks for asking. And yourself? Yeah, I missed you too." Her tone held a slight edge, but she was past being mad at him for going away - more just hurt now at his lack of excitement to see her again, especially considering her own involuntary butterflies and shaking hands.
