It is the gay right that all gay people should enjoy all over the world. And the evolution of the legal system in HK should keep pace with some other leading countries if it is to become a more renowned international center. On the recent incident posted below, i have some thougghts & comments to share with you all. It is on the recent claim made by individual gay person on discrimination of the statue on sex in relation to s118 of Crimes Ordinance. I 'll be glad to provide information for your kindly reference . Please feel free to forward for "any use" if it could help the case. And welcome to any discussions. Pls note the heading and you will find the high -lighted meaning of it if you find it too clumsy to read. One more suggestion is to do some surveys by the gay group so as to reflect the genuine attitude on law on discrimination on sexual orientation. There is no law prohibiting discrimination on sexual orientation although by virtue of the Bill of Rights Ordinance & the ICCPR (Interbational Convenant on Civil & Political Rights), all people should be treated equal , and should not be discriminated on sex... or on any grounds. The discimination ordiance only focus on discrimination on sex, diability, family status etc.. I think there is indded a need for a legislation focusing on protecting the gay group from discrmination on sexual orientation. It does exist but it seems invisible , therefore disregarded. I hope any organizations can urge the government on enacting law on protecting us. The EOC(Equal Opportunity Commission) has simply not recorded any claims on discrimination on sexual orientation. Click on their page and you'll know more . Does it mean there is no claim? Or that the law has not empowered them to punish the wrongdoers/ brought legal proceedings on it? I am really not satisfied.
