What would you guys do if a legal car goes one to two tenths faster than the rest of the field? Also this car wins most or all of the races. Would you make him retire by a rule change? How would you control a run away with-in the rules? It can happen but I don't want to spend the money to see without some answers. I would want to be treated fairly as with-in the rules but don't want to hurt your program by killin the car count. Please respond racers and TPSA. (I am not trying to be a smart ass but want to know answers)

- Well, we have discussed several avenues. If one car dominates, we will of course have to do something to even things up. However, you will get to run with the rules that are in force on January first until July first with revisions after April posted so you have 2 months to prepare for any changes. We are going to make a set of rules for 2003 before the second week of November so you all will be able to plan for January. Lookin good boys & girls. I think we'll have a great show. By the way, everyone that races with us on the 26th will receive the following lovely gifts. A TPSA windshield decal, (4) competition numbers, and a very handsome TPSA t-shirt. The winner, runner-up, and semi, will also receive a nice TPSA golf shirt (sure to be a collectors item) in addition to the cash prizes and a trophy for the mantle. What a deal! Should be a good time. We'll be there Friday getting setup and hangin out and testing Mike's car. Pro Mods have two qualifiying passes and anyone that wants to come out and run some test sessions is welcome. As always, anyone with tech questions should see the man in black, Mr. Harrison, and Mike and I are always available for the easy ones.

The dodge 3speed is worth 1.5 and the lock-up is worth 0 had that thing in and out of the car ten times now and beat the crap out of the new car.I'm done with it FOR SALE just come get it! lol you better look at the three speed it has been proven to pick you up 1.5 ask Danny.Im running a JW PG but the 3 speed is on the way. Been reading the rules and replys and I haven't seen anything that is going to make this affordable for the average racer. Should be a smaller CI limit and P&G to check. One weight and no breaks or penalities. Then figure out what to bring. This will wind up being purpose-built cars anyway. Also no FI, that shit is expensive.

I was reading Mark and Jeff's little skirmish down the page and I was thinking about how much I enjoy doing this. It's just a hobby and it's what we do for fun. Nothing wrong with wanting to be competitive, but the day it becomes so serious that it's not fun anymore is the day I quit. My point is that I enjoy being with my friends and family at the track as much as I enjoy the racing. My real hope is to put together this program and everyone can enjoy it and have FUN! Just my two cents, brothers. It's all good.

H`mm now are these the ``official rules``? I am going to wear the bolts out putting in and pulling out engines and transmissions in the luv trk. Now right down the page is a different set of rules also claiming to be the rules for the race. The small block guys need all the help we can get! 18 degree head technology must be 10 years old by now. There is no subsitute for cubic inches too much weight and you kill a small block. You should knock 50# off the 18 degree combination. The big blocks will catch up sooner than you think, in the mean time lets go race.

These will be the official rules for the 26th event and they will be posted on the rules link on the home page shortly. We have not had access to change the web site until this week, and now will be taking care of it ourselves. We apologize for any rules confusion.

This class is for tube chassis-type cars. Full body, doorslammer-type cars. No open wheel cars allowed.

1. The basic car will be at 2450# with a big block engine with conventional Chevrolet Mark 4 valve configuration, a 9.8" deck height block, one carburetor or fuel injector (throttle body type, not Hilborn style), and a cast single plane intake. The reasoning for the standard height block is that it limits the cubic inches to about 580. At this time, there will be no Big Chief, Olds, Pontiac, or any other pro stock-style heads allowed... period! For this race, 2 Carburetors will be allowed and will carry a 100# penalty, and any tunnel ram intake will carry a 50# penalty. Tall deck blocks will be allowed at this event, but will be subject to a P&G check for displacement (since we now have access to one), and any type engine will carry a 100# penalty if they excede 580 cubic inches. The big block Ford entries will be subject to a P&G also, since we understand they can be made larger than 580 cubic inches in the standard block. Alcohol fuel will carry a 50# penalty. You can request a P&G check, and if your displacement is less than 500 cubic inches, you will be allowed to remove 50#. Chrysler entries will be subject to tech and assessed weight at the track since we don't have any input on them at this time.

2.Basic small block entries will run at 2200#. They will be allowed a standard 23 degree head of any brand (if necessary, we will remove a valve cover and check valve angle.), any manifold, and any carburetor configuration. Any other small block inline head will be allowed at a 150# penalty, 2 carburetors at a 50# penalty, and any tunnel ram intake at a 50# penalty. Alcohol fuel carries a 50# penalty here also.

3. Any factory type automobile automatic transmission will be allowed. Aftermarket cases and bellhousings will be allowed. There will be no clutch-type, Bruno, Lenco or other aftermarket type automatics allowed. Lock-up converter types will be allowed at a 50# penalty. (we hear there are some of you with those.)

4. Any tires allowed.

5. Anyone caught in violation of any of these rules will be disqualified from racing with us for the remainder of the year, and lose any points, money earned at that race and be escorted off the premises. This race series is for you racers, and we are going to try to keep the field as level as we can. Cheating will NOT be tolerated. This is for the fun of it!

6. After this event, we will expect you racers to fill out the rules suggestion questionaires so we can review what YOU want, and we will hold a meeting before the first of the year where rules for next year will be handed out. We will put that set of rules in effect at the first race of 2003, and will keep them intact until July 1st. After the April races, we will again review your suggestions and event results, make any changes to the rules as seem necessary to keep that level field, and give you 2 months to prepare for any changes. Again, this is for the benefit of you as racers and will be kept as fair as possible so more of you can be competitive.

Was hoping that someone would note exactly why my light was 4.27 seconds and not .427 seconds and clarify why Danny Liebham put a "super hole shot" on me and won the inagural TPSA race. It is very hard to stage and accelerate when your accelerator linkage is broken. As everyone saw the small block was the fastest car there and hope to be even faster in the next race. I did enjoy the race and am planning to return. Is there plans to add more pictures to the web site? I saw the winner but, how about the runner up?? Ha! Ha!

I have a Comp. eliminator car (D/SMA). We run a 335" 15* SB with 2 carbs and a 3 speed auto. The car weights 2930# and runs 5.60-5.70. Looking at your rules this motor would be legal at 2350# I can't get my car that light but I have access to a car that can get that weight and I feel like we could be fairly competetive. Is everything I'm saying accurate or is there a rule I'm missing? Neat deal you guys have, I'd like to be able to come play sometime.

- On a serious note, we all know that 40's are going to go away as soon as some of you get more passes in. Racers always find ways to improve their performance. That's just progress, unfortunately this takes money. Nobody ever said it was inexpensive. If you never change anything, you always have the same view of the pack. All we are is the referee. Scott, I am not against anything. I, and I think I speak for everyone else involved here, am willing to do whatever is necessary to have a level field. True, I am the one who is holding the line against the exotic head cars. I saw what happened with some of the others who have tried this, and am all for taking it slow. We want to include everyone in this, and will try to come up with some weight break for everyone, but not all at once. We have asked many times for those of you with rules suggestions to speak up, but the majority of e-mails I get are self serving and tunnel vision for the one making the suggestion.

As far as reps from several regions, I haven't had enough response from enough people to feel like it would be worthwhile at this point. We have repeatedly asked for those of you who will come to respond. We have rule suggestion sheets that you can fax or e-mail us for consideration. We invite any of you to do so. Help us out here.

As we have repeatedly stated, this isn't for us, it's for the promotion of heads up racing. We aren't, at this time, going to allow a combination that will bring in a couple of cars, and exclude (or make them drop out) several more. We haven't heard from enough cars with the "Big Chief" or other heads of that type to feel like we are doing the wrong thing. Let us hear from you if this includes you. Speak up!

Yes, there will be another meeting after the 26th race and hopefully there will be more people show up. The turn out at the last one was kinda sparce. Several people said that they didn't hear in time and this time there should be plenty of time. Tell anyone you know about us and anything that pertains to our deal who might come.

Are you planning on having another meeting prior to the 2003 season to discuss the pros and cons of the first two races?

This may be a dumb question, but have you thought about having representatives in different regions in Texas to handle proposed rule amendments? (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Beaumont and Victoria). These reps would be able to refine a rules proposal and put it into the proper technical terms. Those proposals would then be sent to you to be voted on by the Organization or an elected committee?

It appears to me that you have an awful lot of intelligent individuals wanting to run with The Texas Pro Stock Organization. I would think that everyone would like more cars to ensue a larger payout, provided all of the cars are on an equal playing field.

I would assume that John would be against this, because with more rules and different combinations, means more work to keep everyone in-line for the "Tech Guy".

I want to also commend you and everyone else involved in this Organization for all of the hard work involved in trying to make this thing succeed. Running this Organization is the same as tweaking on your car to make it run faster, a lot of time and effort and you will usually succeed.

- Thanks! Jeff warned me that this was going to be a bitch and he was right. I must admit that I've enjoyed the challenge and I've met a lot of good people in the process. Hey, who knows about how big this thing can get. We might have to tell Wally and that NHRA bunch to get out of the way. As far as next year, who knows. Both have bowtie blocks, jesel rockers/belt drives,peterson wet-vac pumps,15&18 degree CFE heads & intakes,crower & lunati cranks etc. Best of everything. 1 is 427,1 is 412 c.i. Both make over 800 h.p. with flat tops & steel rods. Plenty left. These engines are complete manifold to aluminum oil pans, & have titanium valves. 1 has dyno only-0 runs. 1 has 30 runs. I have solved all your problems. I know where you get get a new mill for your ride that would be a player. Its a 396ci Buick headed small block. Bowtie block, titanium valves, jesel, sheet metal tunnel ram, external wet sump pump, complete intake to pan you can get for around 7,500. - Jeff, a Buick is an inline valve 10 degree head. It would run at inline weight. The total would be according to manifold-carb. combo. No, your 355 won't hang... never said it would.
