Subject: cubic inches

You mentioned affordable racing. If you don't limit the size of the motors, you are opening the door to unaffordable racing to only a few. I would limit the motors in size and leave open the size of the tires. Stock front end suspension should also be considered.

[> Cubic inches? more concerned with the heads -- Mike, 20:58:06 09/03/02 Tue [1]

The cubic inch limit doesn't bother me.But the cylinder head issue does.Just about every fast "bracket or S/C,S/G" car out there is already running big chief or similar heads. You said you were looking for an alternative to index racing without getting too expensive? Well limiting a 2400lb car with one carb, cast intake and small heads I'm afraid you are going to get very many fast cars? Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the 5.00 or quicker door cars that aren't running N.O.S either weigh 2200lbs or have big inch, big cylinder headed motors.
If 5.30 to 5.60 1/8 times are what your searching for, then why call it "prostock" ? Just like any other heads up class, your always going to have someone with tons of money ruin it for everyone else, but don't disqualify over 1/2 of the chassis cars out there that would be interested in this. And for the guy above me that questioned the stock front suspension ?? This isn't backhalf racing, you aready have several of those orginizations to choose from!
I would be very interested in turning my stop off and trying this, but I'm not interested in building another combonation too! Thanks for the place to rant,Not trying to bitch or whine, just throwing my .002 into the mix.
