I agree with everything you are saying on the safeguards and "covering your bases" magickally. But I especially like the idea of doing spell-work related to wisdom and communication.

It got me thinking that I have in the past done spells for my own clarification in a situation....that is for me to have wisdom and for me to recieve/make all the appropriate and beneficial communications. So you really hit the nail on the head and reminded me that I should start there. I also may do some investigative work in the mundane and sort of cover every base.

I don't particularly feel that divination is always the best route to take in seeking whether or not to do a type of spell since that can be so subjective and swayed by our own emotions. But doing magick to gain wisdom and perspective and all necessary info in a situation is always a good idea when faced with 'grey' areas. Bottom line: when in doubt...don't.
