Awareness and sense thrums through the water, sending pulses of caution through the roan yearling's body. All seriousness now, the half-grown filly darts through aqua to latch firmly upon terra, then stands, eyes and body held defiantly proud.

What life had taught her she now showed, as tenseness wound itself about her and prepared her to spring in case of a would-be attack. But still, what was left of the filly in her, the curiousity, held her back from leaping to haven.

Stubborn flooded her mind. Who was the stallion to threaten her, if not with words, with eyes? For all his rage could be seen plainly. She had learned to gauge that much.

The question repeated. "Who are you?" A simple request...no. Perhaps bordering on demand.

But what she wanted to know, she would know. At all costs.
