Subject: Luxton's greatest unreleased songs

Luxton-first let me say that you have provided so much pleasure in my life, thanks to your brilliant songwriting and the best voice in the history of rock. It would be interesting to know why certain of your songs never were released, even though a number of such tunes stand up very well(at least in my humble opinion) against some of your other material. For example, I think I Heard It On The News has hit written all over it, yet you chose The Rock's Steady for Plus Signs over it. Don't get me wrong-I'd have a tough time picking between the 2 great songs, but I'm curious as to why such a great tune has not found its way to any of your albums. I'd also put Just Another Crazy Kid, Sanity and Just About Sane in the same category. One other song that I particularly enjoyed was one that I heard on the Variety Club telethon that had to be called something like "Face Value". What a beautiful song, and sung as only Burton can. Who wrote the song? Is there any chance that any of these gems will be released? What about Rhino's Handmade label? Is there any possibility that a disc of rare BC material could be put together by that label? It seems like it would fit in with the kind of releases they're focusing on. These songs(and others like them) are way too good for the world not to have access to. This is not a complaint-but it sure would be great to hear some of these tunes in a decent quality recording. At any rate, I hope you realize how much your music has touched the lives of your fans. I know what it has meant to me for the past 30 years. Rock on-best of luck w/ the reunion tour.

Rick

Jaime Vernon has an indie label Bullseye- where the emphasis isn't on quantity sold like the big record labels. Always an option for getting . One of my favourite unreleased BC songs Love Dies Hard. (oh, well, at least I get to watch him sing it.)

Whatever Happened To Richard
I Can Maintain
Sanity
In Your Eyes
I Heard It On The News
Face Value
Just Another Crazy Kid
Just Aout Sane
Yo TE AMo
SOmething About That Woman
Another One
American Dream
Fame Junky
Up To The Minute

What do all these songs have in common? Great Burton Cummings tracks never released on CD or LP, and three or four of them should have been monster hits.
