Subject: Voice of Sanity? Not from me! <g>

We're all grown ups. We can say what we want, we can take things the way we want to take them. We can communicate with whom we want. I LIKE THAT. Some people don't mind expletives, some do. If you don't like them, sure, you can speak up, but you can't take away another's right to expression. If you don't like that, go away. Don't expose yourself to it. If you don't mind it, stay. But again, it's your CHOICE. Myself, I'd still like to communicate with Luxton, and I hope he'd still like to communicate with the rest of us, but again, it's his CHOICE. We certainly can't compel him to communicate with us. It has certainly been a magical week, I'll say that much. I can certainly understand the desparation as well, we're acting as if we've let the golden goose slip through our grasp and perhaps we have, perhaps not. Time will tell. Meanwhile, it's been incredibly gratifying to read through Burton's posts and discover that yes, I do "get" his muse. Much of my thoughts and feelings have been validated, and for this I will be forever grateful. When they say it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, I think that can apply to us as well. It's better toave heard from Burton and lost than to never have heard from him at all. He can come and go as he pleases, it's HIS CHOICE, and if he doesn't come back, we're still the richer for the experience. So thanks Luxton for your few days with us and here's to many more, but while I'd rather be hearing from you than not, I'm not going to grovel or beg or be a butt-kisser or snivel, and I'm sure you're cool with that.

As for the rest of us, let's enjoy what we've got, what we've had and anticipate what's to come. C'mon, this is supposed to be a happy place!

Love and peace

Well, after posting "rules of netiquette",it'll have to be a cold day before I do anything other than reply :-) I read Fred's post and Tales both making very good points and I guess there's really nothing to do but wait. Something I did personally for security was that I told no one (except the wife and swore her to secrecy) that Burton was posting. I really don't want to sound elitetist(sp?) but I figure if you're a serious fan, creme de la creme then you would find this place on your own. Selfish, maybe. So we "roll with the punches", and adapt as AW has done. Deb, you're the best.

> As you were, I am suspicious of my "regular" friends, as when I told them Burton had been posting on the board and in chat, I was slapped with skepticism and generally obnoxious remarks. I'm not sure why.....maybe they think I am stupid and gullible to believe it was truly BC. So be it! When asked where the board/chat were, I told them nothing, as I could see that they might think it would be funny to do the kind of things we have seen here. So, for the personal friends in my life, with the exception of my immediate family, it is business as usual.

I have also noticed that the board/chat cannot be found through a search of Burton Cummings. I think this is a good thing, now, especially since the word has gotten out.
