Subject: ABOUT THE BOARD AND ALL THE FRIENDS HERE

I am once again humbled and encouraged by all your support...last Friday night was my introduction to this site and the chat we had was fabulous...(I must admit, I had some fun at first too, when none of the chatters knew it was me..) After some rather strange events here, I can only reassure all of you that I will continue to treat this site with respect and reverence...you all make me feel very special and I refuse to be bullied out of here...if some questionable people have a beef with me and my responses here, I'm just going to ignore them and continue to converse with you who mean so much to me...
I'm very proud of this site and the work that has gone into it...I'm digging up some rare photos for the gallery...stuff that no one has ever seen...also working on assembling For The Fans Volume 2 this weekend in LA...I feel I must also mention how much it meant to me that you all immediately rallied around me in the wake of Thursday morning's lunacy...I think you all know by now how much you mean to me, and I trust that none of you ever thought that was me saying those horrible things...
I'll get to as many individual responses as time will allow...flying back from Toronto to LA tomorrow morning, and if there's a friday night chat, I'll definitely be there..
Once again, thank you all for your friendship and support...you make me feel proud and fulfilled...

Burton, I don't think anyone believed that it was you. We've had to deal with that kind of stuff on the various BBs from time to time in the past, so we've kind of learned to let it roll off our cyber backs. I enjoyed the excerpts, and it whets the appetite for the entire book. Trouble is, now you'll have to add an extra chapter or two.
Speaking of last Friday's chat, during the time that no one (except for 2 sneaky bastards) knew it was you, I'm still chuckling over one of your lines..."I plan on going to every one of the Guess Who shows". My 16-year-old son laughed his ass off when he read that. -- Fred

I don't know if you know about this but when I send e-mails on my site, I ususally send an attachment from another document. I don't know if this can be done on this board, but if it can be done, it would save you typing time if you could just "attach" your book exerpts. Something to check out. By The Way, It's Really Great Reading!

Hello and thanks for hanging in here with us Burton:
Usually I hang around here more than I have the past couple of weeks, just my luck. Thanks for joining us in this usually calm forum. I have been engaged in a songwriting whirlpool over the past month that has not allowed me to spend much time with the cyber world or any world for that matter. I'm sure you can relate. Fortunately I missed all the goings on this morning! The greater the pleasure people gain from some happening the more others want to crash it. It has been a big thrill for all of us that you have joined us here. I had just found time to post here and immediately my notes were necessarily archived. A big thank you to AW for dealing with all of this. Personally, I don't usually write about or respond to other people's evil, I don't want to give them that much credit/attention.
I had wanted to reply to some of the great excerpts from your book. I especially liked your poem about being a cowboy. I don't remember much about open meter verse or iambic pentameter but the protaganist in your poem would have liked the accent on "I" and "I'd" which would have rhythmically worked well in my ears. Just a thought. "Coloured Lights Can Hypnotize" is a must read for me, especially after the carrots. Thanks.

Good stuff. Glad you're feeling more comfortable with your online experience. Very much enjoy reading the book excerpts. They're the first things I look for in the A.M. Like I said in another message here, I think you'll find this a great resource to get feedback, or share your ideas with a knowledgeable fanbase.

Burton, you've been a friend to many people that you've never met before, and thankfully for the Internet, we have the opportunity to express our gratitude for what you've done to enhance our lives through your career. We all knew from the start that you were sincere and that's why we've stuck with you through all the years. Genuineness can't be faked. You've had integrity all throughout your career, and you're showing it even more on this board.
