Subject: GOT 'EM!!!!!!

I got to the Ticketmaster at about 9:50. There were only 7 people in front of me. By the time the 4th person had gotten through, about 10:03, they announced ALL the expensive tickets were gone. No biggie, since I didn't have that kind of money anyway. So I went for the #2 seats, which was my plan all along. Here in Calgary, after taxes and Ticketmaster fees, they were $60.50 each. OUCH! Anyway, when the guy in front of me got to the wicket, they said some of the $82.50 seats had been freed up, so he grabbed 4 on the 8th row. Now I'm starting to sweat; just how many of these expensive tickets are there, and where do the cheap seats begin? Anyway, I got to the wicket, plunked down my $121.00 for two, and lo and behold, I was surprised with a HOT 12th row on the floor! For an extra 22 bucks a ticket, the guy in front of my only got 4 rows closer! Anyway, I got 'em, and I'm PUMPED!!! Now, as soon as my e-bay auction for 2 of my kids goes through, I'll be able to afford seats to Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge . Nah, I'll keep my kids. But come hell or high water, I'm gonna shoot for another show. Man, I'd love to hear the crowd react when they do Runnin' Back to Saskatoon in Red Deer (Red Deer, Terrace and a Medicine Hat...). Of course, I can just imagine what it would be like in Saskatoon! Well, I'll shut up now, I'm properly wired!

You are not wierd Tales, but I am glad to hear you didn't have to sell your kids. . . Got my tickets as well for the Edmonton show. $129.00 for two, so I guess I can keep my kids as well. They sure went fast. Alberta Loves THE GUESS WHO ! ! !

Hi Tales. Maybe see you in Calgary as my wife, a friend and I lucked out and got Row 1 after having to wait only 3 minutes online at the TM website. Yes, expensive, but is The Guess Who!

Cheers,
Glen

Row 1??? AWESOME!!! Yeah, I'll see you there. Look for the LUXTON banner!

Best tix I ever had was when Burton did a promo appearance for UC&A at the downtown HMV store in Calgary,I was front and centre, maybe 6 feet away. It was too cool!

Mmmmmm, then we were probably standing near each other because I was there, too. I don't know if you remember, but there were a couple of people there with strollers. One was mine - with my (then) 1-year-old son. His first ever concert. (Got to start them off with the right music). Anyway, I got one of the HMV posters advertising the gig drymounted. Looks very nice up on the wall.

Well, I was the guy taking pictures, blinding Burton every couple of minutes or so. Photos are on my web site at:

That's a great deal. When I called in Edmonton, they basically said the floor was the floor. $173 a pair after taxes & handling charges.

I was going to use the internet, but it was down it work (very seldom goes down, but sure enough, on this day it had to) so snuck out and went to my nearest ticketmaster. I was pleasantly surprised to be fifth in line (9:35 or so) but disappointed that there was such a poor turnout, but it sounds like most people used the phone or computer.
(While standing in line, I was thinking of messages from people in the previous board about how they'd like to see BC backed up by a band again - we're getting more than we hoped for)!!!

now the grueling three month wait ...
