Not sure about Friends of Distinction, but Jr. Walker covered "These Eyes". Pick up Gowan's "Greatest Hits" CD for another GW cover song, in addition to a number of other really good songs. -- Fred

I don't recall a Friends of Distinction cover tune but I know that The Copperfield Brass, Krokus, and AC did "American Woman" (I have them). Copperfield Brass was an instrumental, Krokus was 80s hair rock, and AC was a real piece of crap punk/hardcore. According to All-Music there are also covers of "American Woman" by Due South, Jaymz Bee and the Royal Jelly Orchestra, Ian Cussick, Cake Like, and the Butthole Surfers.

I also don't have these covers, but I believe "These Eyes" has been done by Michael Bolton, Natalie Cole, and Alton Ellis.

The "American Woman" by "Due South" is the original version by the GW, which appears on the soundtrack of the Due South TV series. The song was played in one of the episodes. (Just to save you ordering it, thinking it's a new cover). -- Fred

Checked out the music library at the radio station during lunch and have a few updates.
Ian Cussick-the song is called "American Women" and is not a cover but an entirely different song.
Cake Like-the song is called "The American Woman" and is not a cover but an entirely different song.
Butthole Surfers-This is a totally reworked version of the Guess Who original but can still be classified a cover (barely). It's on their "Rembrandt Pussyhorse" album.
