Subject: Burton Cummings stuff 'n' such

Good Sunday eve, all. Just finished watching the Burton Cummings "segment" of the 2000 Juno Awards on CBC. Ol Burt's looking good these days ... he's really got the weight off and is looking alert and healthy in general. He ended up awarding a Juno to Alanis Morrisette, opened the envelope and said her name with one of his "9-year old smiles" coming over his face. I liked the irony of his presenting to Alanis, one of the stars in Glen Ballard's stables. Perhaps Burton and Alanis will be stable-mates soon, eh? One can hope, ha ha. ..... I was listening to "We Gotta Get Outta This Place" by Eric Burdon & the Animals and couldn't get over how similar young Burton Cummings sounded like Burdon. I can certainly see how Burdon was one of Cummings' musical influences in the delivery of those lyrics ... both of that pull-em-outta-their-seats style. Two masters. ........... First song on a reunion? Well, I like 8:15 but I'd really like to hear them open it with either "Heygood Hardy" or "Palmyra." What a service to all of the true GW/BC/RB fans, those who've stuck by them through thick and thin! ..... iHawk

He was a presenter of an award to Allanis, he didn't perform himself.
