Thought I'd re-post some of the more recent messages that
got archived:

Timeless Love -- bcpcfan, 13:20:34 02/08/00 Tue
Wish me luck - my band will be performing our version of
"Timeless Love" on Saturday evening. If this works out
well, I will try to get it recorded on our upcoming CD
(with all the proper copywrite's going to Mr. Cummings,
of course).

Can't reply to VfD's and AW's comments from my previous (now archived) posting, so I'll start again here. Yes, I truly love this song and the harmonies (wonderful). That's why it was my first choice of BC song to try. I do the version from DOAC, without the UC&A vocal treatments on "just enough to make you say you wanna stay" - I'm not quite into those. I intend to do the full introduction of this song, saying something about my favorite male singer of all time, etc. (Course, my band will probably start razzing me because of my obsession), BUT I'm sure the crowd will love the song as much as I do, and maybe even become a little bit obsessed with the man's music themselves.

So, if I don't get the chance to say so before Monday - Happy Valentine's Day. Timeless Love is livin' on...

If you're doing the DOAC version of "Timeless Love", that must be one VERY short song. After this, maybe you can get to work on the MOWTR version of "It Takes A Fool".

Yo- VFD this sounds a little snotty, evan if ya didn't mean it that way. Must be the "Takes A Fool" referance, but she could take it that way. (yeah, I know, you didn't mean it that way)

Oops, you're absolutely right. I only picked out "Takes A Fool" because I thought it might a good cover choice, not to imply that anybody WAS a fool (unless they love a fool, perhaps). I guess I need to use a few ";)"'s now and then.

Naa- I knew you didn't mean it the way it could have been taken. Just pointed it out 'cause I knew your response would be "oops". Anyway don't worry about it. Now go listen to John Davidson singing Humpty's Blues 20x for penance.

you must also listen to the new cd of Tiny Tim singing the Paramount version American Woman, Pain Train and Albert Flasher.(which he dedicated to Miss Vicki) Mr Tiny was a Huge Guess Who fan and this cd features him doing "3 More Days, I'm Scared, Back To The City,Just Let Me Sing and (for Odi) Nashville Sneakers in his finest falsetto voice!

I would have to be doing penance for the sins of the world since the dawn of humanity to undergo this. (I believe that's already been taken care of.) What I really want to hear is Gene Pitney does Burton ("hey, I'm not in here either!").

Really guys, you're too funny - Gene Pitney, gosh, I love him ;-)

Actually the original DOAC reference to Timeless Love was a pure brain fart. I should be taking Ginko Biloba but keep forgetting to. So, what I meant was, I'm going to do the MOWTR version of TL (plain vanilla - no BC ad libs). Now of course I'll have visions of John Davidson and Tiny Tim dancing in my head. Thanks alot, my sugar plum fairies.

I think that Ms. "Senior Female BC Fan" (not to stir up more trouble, but this could imply she's REALLY OLD--but I'm sure ya didn't mean it that way ;-p, lol , ROTFAPYP), and hopefully, BCPCFAN realize I'm really not smart enough to think of song titles to use for snotty purposes. Don't want to turn this into an iMusic, especially not today!

Don't sweat it, D - I didn't take it the wrong way. And I'm not going to let anything spoil this week. After all, I'm singing Timeless Love on Saturday (pray the weather gods keep the snow away), Burton's going to CA, and The Guess Who's going on tour. It doesn't get any better than this.
