Even though I thought I smelt a rat with the "Lonely One" suggestion, I had to take notice to the "who are the people that we think we are" that we're going to dictate the stage's appearance, personnel, songlist, etc. sentiment. It's certainly a worthy point even if one sees things a little differently. As much time and attention as we've invested in these guys over the last three decades, we should have a good sense for their strengths, what songs might work the best, what the typical GW fan wants to hear, etc. There are problems in that first, even the fanatics can't agree on the songs, and second, in order to be successful, the tour must reach the casual fans (hence, "Stand Tall", "You Ain't Seen Nothin"). We're kind of torn between wanting the best songs possible and the most successful tour possible. It's not totally preposturous to imagine that the GW management might sample our local opinions in order to get a feel for what the larger body of Guess Who-dom wants.
I sure wish they'd break up this marathon meeting already (maybe they arguing whether the keyboard goes on the left, right, or center) on make this thing official. Maybe they're still trying to get everyone to sign a sobreity agreement.
