Subject: Awful Weezing sounding coming from engine compartment

just started this morning out of the blue. the best description i can think of is a weezing noise (much like when your sick and your lungs are all crapped up). then it makes little vibrations here and there. its starting to worry me, since there was smoke visible coming from the drivers side of the hood, up towards the cab.

sounds like a belt of some kind to me, but i'm clueless.

weird how this happened just a few days after we took it to the dealer for a checkup. by the way, dealer says $1300 for valve seals and a bunch of other stuff like timing belt and other seals and stuff (cant remember off the top of my head). but it sounds like a good deal after hearing what some other people have paid.

anywho, any idea on what that sound is?
