Height at the Shoulder~ Females 8-15 feet. Males 15-25 ft.
Species' Colors~ there are two varations, grey and black, and tan and dark brown. Hood, backfur, and feathering is the darker color, while the rest of bodyfur is the lighter color. horn, claws, blade, and fangs are always white. Tail is always shiny silver.
Temperament~ Males are more agressive, females more passive, except when defending Infants. All are generally bloodthirsty and excellent fighters. Cannot stand any creatures from Kyta's rival planet Anyana. (Whee, this'll make things fun for my Anyanan buddies XD)
Species' Description~ oh, lessee. body shape is deep-chested and lean-waisted, semi-streamlined. Head is canine with sharply tapered ears, with a bony hood (like a triceratops) attatched to the back of its skull. This hood protects and covers the neck well, as it is very dense and therefore hard to break bone. From the middle of its head a long horn protrudes out by a foot, and two saberfangs provide a viscious look. A thin ridge of very thick fur covers its spine, giving it more protection. Its tail is long and whip-like in flexibility, plated somewhat like a bird's leg with thin yet strong scales. On the end of its tail is a scythe-like blade, three feet long and extremely sharp on the inside curve. On the outside it is very blunt, good for knocking sense into something or someone. Its thin and long tail is practically nothing but bone, but it is extremely flexible, giving it the speed of a whip that could decimate anything in the path of its blade.
It's hind legs are longer than its fore, but it makes up for the difference in length by it's seemingly constant crouching position, providing an excellent means of leaping for good distances instantly from a standing position without having to prepare for it. This has saved the species from many sudden attacks. On all four of its feet are short yet plenty sharp claws, and also feathering like a clydestale horse.
What makes this species stand out is its unique way of aging. Born as half-foot helpless infants in litters of 1-3, in a few weeks they form a cocoon and emerge a few days later as a 1st stage cub. this cub, though larger, looks mearly the same as a domestic cat, but without claws. months later, it forms another cocoon, and emerges as a 2nd stage cub. This cub is much larger, about 5 feet tall now, and has the beginnings of a horn, saberfangs, and tailblade. Its bodyshape is more like a tiger's. Years later, it forms its final cocoon, finally emerging as an adult.
Zantarag are very fast and agile, but they hate water and they hate trees and mountains, where they are at the most of a disadvantage. They can't really swim, they aren't very surefooted on a rocky mountain, and they often get stuck between trees in a forest. What's more, their tailblade gets lodged in trees.
