Subject: Working out..or something like it..

Tell me about slacking off, I just started lifing again after taking two weeks off. As a result my muscles weren't as used to the weight as they used to be and my workout sucked as a result. But I should be back on track in a few days. I'll never miss a workout again and this time I mean it. :-)

Got your wisdom tooth pulled? It seems like everyone is doing that now. Three people I know have done that in the last few months.

As for suppliments I have been studyting these for over a year now and I have learned quite a bit. Here is a list of what I am taking that you could probably benifit from:

N-Large2 Weight Gainer: This contains lots of protein/carbs that are gread for adding extra calories into my diet (people who have trouble loseing weight must hate me right now:-) ) It's protein is completely Whey, which absorbs really fast into your body. I usually take it in the morning because I have been depleted of food for 9 hours and I want it in my system fast. Plus right after my workout because after intense excersise your body tries to get as much protein and carbhydrates into the muscle as possible. Usually you mix it with Skim milk and the chocolate flavour is the best :-)

MultiVitamin/Mineral: This is good for you for obvious reasons. If you are deficient in various vitamins and minerals it can really affect your muscle gains.

Creatine Monohydrate: I love this suppliment, the powdered version that is. Once inside the muscle it regenerates ATP stores as well as volumises the muscle with water. This is good because it creates a better pump and the more water in your muscle the more nutrients can get inside. Plus it makes your muscles look fuller and that's always nice. There are no dangerous side effects with creatine other than dyhydration (since more water goes to your muscles and not to other places) but that is only a problem if you don't increase your water intake. To use this you have to go into a loading phase for the first week you have to take 20 grams (divided into 5 doses throughout the day) for 5 days of the week. Then you go into the maintainince phase where you take two does of 5 grams a day for every workout day. Mix it with Grape Juice because it contains the simple sugar Dextrose which creates an insulin spike to get more creatine into the muscle. Stay in the maintainince phase for five weeks then stop taking creatine for a month after that so your body doesn't become to used to it. Sometimes people get an upset stomach in the loading phase but I've never had that problem myself. Make sure you drink it right away because creatine is not stable when submerged in a liquid. After about 10 min in any liquid it will be rendered useless.

ZMA: This formula is Zinc, Magnesium, and Vitamin B6. It's useful because intense excersise depletes these minerals in the body. Taking it can increase Testosterone levels in a man by up to 30%. It's rather overpriced though and it can be duplicated easily. Just make sure to take 30mg of Zinc, 450mg of Magnesium, and 10.5g of B6(this is only used to help absorb the minerals). Make sure the zinc is Zinc Gluconate because it absorbs faster. Plus you are not to take it with calcium because Zinc and Calcium compete in the stomach to be absorbed and calcium always wins. Don't take anything with calcium in it 2 hours before the ZMA and 30 min after. Some of the cheaper companies use calcium to bind the capsule so check the ingrediants and make sure. ZMA should be taken 1 hour before bedtime because large amounts of Zinc in the body causes you to get sleepy. When on ZMA you should notice that your sleep will become a lot more deep and you will become better rested. A warning though, ZMA causes some screwed up dreams for most of the users....well you'll see :-)

Universal Uni-Liver: These are dessicated liver tablets. Basically they take the liver of cattle that are kept far away from pesticides (so the liver has no toxins in it at all) and freeze dry it and make it into tablets. They are rich in Iron, Amino Acids, and B-Vitamins. The amino acids are great for aiding in muscle recovery, plus you won't be as sore after. The B-Vitamins are great for helping with the digestion of food so you get more out of what you eat. The iron is good for the formation of hemoglobin in the red blood cells. Now I take 4 of these per large meal and It adds up to about 16 a day. They are quite large so they are difficult to swallow but you get used to them (I can do 4 at a time now). Some people develop bad gas from this but I have never had any problems with this.

B-Complex Vitamins: Take one of these with your biggest meal of the day, but not with your multivitamin. B-Vitamins are water soluable so you don't have to worry about taking too much. Any extra will be urinated out.

Vitamin C: Great for the immune system and increses energy. Take 1.5g a day (divided in 3 doses of 500 mg) and make sure one of these doses is after a workout.

------

Now here is some info about your suppliments. First of all GNC overcharges way too much. Basically they suck your wallet dry even with the gold card and the buy one and get the 2nd 50% off. Any deal they have is still priced higher than any other place. Better off getting the stuff from a health food store, bodybuilding shop, or the internet. Shop around and you'll see what I mean.

Now the Creatine ATP serum doesn't really work. Any creatine in a liquid is rendered useless in a matter of min. This stuff doesn't even contain as much creatine as they say on the label (10% of label claims if you are lucky). Basically there is no such thing as a stable water soluable creatine it doens't exsist. You will save a lot of money if you just buy the powder. More proof that it doesn't work is that if a stable creatine did exsist it would be in every gatorade bottle by now. :-)

Basically anything by Muscle Marketing USA and Muscletech is a scam. They spend too much money on Advertising and very little on improving their products. If anyone tries to give an honest review of their products they are quickly slapped with a lawsuit. I can even be in danger by typing this, seriously. :-)

Well I originally planned on making this longer so I will finish it off tommorow at the same time. Have fun reading, I get the feeling I typed a little too much. But if you need any additional questions feel free to ask in the meantime. :-)

Achilles (Lets see what ZMA does to my dreams this time.)
