RPG Maker 2000 is a program translated from Japanese by a fellow that goes by the name of Don Miguel (a russian, despite the name, which is most likely an alias). I like RM2K because it's so easy to use to make basic games, yet it has the potential to make games with complex features. (The programming level of my own falls somewhere in the middle) It also boasts a large online community, but unfortunately, much of that is composed of petty, sniping, obnoxious, immature assholes....but such is the problem with any of the big, so-called communities.

There are other game-makers out there, but I've gone to so much trouble so far that I really can't be bothered to even consider doing SOTS on them. The bad news is that, yes, you will have to download RM2K to play it. The good news is that I can give you the link for it, or maybe even e-mail it as an attachment (if the file-size isn't too big). Also, you don't have to learn RM2K to play games made with it, you just need to have it on your computer.

I'll also be doing a version that doesn't require you to have any of the standard RM2K resource package (called RTP), so it doesn't take up a lot of space on your computer.
